Installing QuickTurf
Quick to Fit
Creating your perfect, maintenance-free lawn is simple. Just follow these eight steps. The weed membrane, artificial turf, jointing tape and glue will all be supplied in your delivery from Quickturf.
Step One
Measure the garden!

Step Two
Prepare the ground (removing old turf to a depth of 20mm, weeds and vegetation) and remove any obstacles such as stones.
Step Three
Grade soil to an approximate finished level and compact it.

Step Four
Apply an even layer of sharp sand across the whole area. Rake it out and screed (level out) the sand using a flat piece of wood to the required finished level and compact it.

Step Five
We recommend you lay a geotextile membrane to help prevent weeds growing through the Quickturf and blocking the drainage holes.

Step Six
Roll out the Quickturf. It’s better to stand on the carpet and roll the Quickturf away from you – like you would a normal carpet. This prevents foot marks in the prepared sand.
Minimise waste by carefully planning your cuts and seams. Artificial turf must be laid in the same direction for the greatest aesthetic effect.

Step Seven
Trim Quickturf to shape and join seams if required.
The best way to join seams is to fold back the carpet either side of the join and place a length of jointing tape (shiny side down) between the seam. Apply adhesive in a ‘S’ shaped or zigzag pattern onto the jointing tape. Fold back the carpet making sure that the two sides meet in the middle of the jointing tape. Weight the seam by walking or rolling until fully adhered.

The Gardena range from Quickturf is designed to take a sand infill. Apply kiln dried sand in layers across the turf until the desired depth is reached and then brush to ensure even coverage. Please ensure that the weather is dry before doing this.

All other Quickturf carpets can be fixed at the edges by either:
- using 10-15 mm (4-6") nails;
- using wooden pegs; or
- creating a timber edge around the whole lawn.
Step Eight
Relax and enjoy!
